Pinsk inhabitant complains to UN about Belarusian police
The head of Pinsk affiliate of BNF Alyaksandr Ramanovich has sent a complaint about actions of the Belarusian police to the United Nations Organization. Our reporter Hleb Paulouoski comes up with some details:
"Alyaksandr Ramanovich was detained by the police and accused of using bad language on the eve of the celebration of the Day of Will – on March 20, 2007. The city court sentenced the Pinsker to 5 days of detention according to the evidence of policemen.
Ramanovіch did not agree to the sentence and tried to appeal the court’s decision in courts of higher instances. However, it did not help. His next step is the appeal to the UN human rights committee”.
Alyaksandr Ramanovich stresses that he has been arrested many times for his views.
