Poland attracts Belarus workers with cheap visas
The citizens of Belarus, Ukraine and Russia will be able to work in Poland three months within half a year, writes the Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza quoting Poland's vice minister for labor and social policy Kazimerz Kuberski.
The new regulations aim to simplify procedures for getting legal employment in the construction and agricutural sectors by nationals from these three countries. The cost of a short-term working visa has been reduced to Zl100 ($40) down from almost $350 previously.
Visas would be issued after receiving a statement from Polish employers that they indend to hire foreign workers. The Polish labor black market is estimated to reach 1,300,000 people.
Over 2 million of Poles have migrated to the West seeking better job opportunities.
