Police trying to enter journalist’s flat in Minsk

The police are trying to enter a Minsk flat belonging to an independent journalist Syarhei Kruchkou who used to work for a satellite channel “Belsat” for some time.
According to Mr. Kruchkou, policemen invited an employee of the communal services department to help them at first. He said he was going to check air trunks. Then Kruchkou was told that they were “from the police” and demanded to let them in to inspect the flat, reports Radio Liberty.

Syarhei refused to let them in and demanded a search warrant from the Office of the Public Prosecutor. The policemen did not have any warrant and promised to return later.
