Polish foreign ministry sends protest note to Belarus ambassador
The Poland's Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a note of protest to the Belarusian Embassy in Warsaw over the denial by the Belarusian authorities to allow entrance to Belarus to the Polish Senate Vice Speaker Krzysztof Putra. The Belarusian border guards on Friday denied entrance to the Polish Senate Vice Speaker without giving any explanations. The Polish official was scheduled to visit the Belarusian city of Hrodna and meet with the activists of the unregistered Union of Poles in Belarus. On Friday evening, Belarus diplomat Uladzimir Chushau was called to the Polish Foreign Ministry and handed a note of protest. Poland demands explanations from the Belarusian side over the incident.
