Presidential contenders collect signatures from Moscow to New York

The European Radio for Belarus has found out whether the presidential contenders look for support of those Belarusians who happened to be abroad.

It turns out that it is Vital Rymasheuski's nomination group which works abroad the most. Belarusian citizens living in Belgium, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania and the USA can easily sign for the BCD contender. More than 100 supporters of Rymasheuski have been found in these countries so far, informed the representative of his headquarters Iryna Hubskaya, to the European Radio for Belarus.

Iryna Hubskaya: “We collect signatures in Poland: in Warsaw, Krakow and Lublin. Signatures are also collected in Vilnius, Kovno. It's New York in the USA, and Antwerp and Brussels in Belgium”.

Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu's nomination group only works in Warsaw at present. However, the poet is to conduct a picket tour around the neighbouring countries next week.

“It will be a one-time action, looking like a moving picket. We plan to conduct it in Vilnius, Kyiv, Moscow and Warsaw”, — informed the press-secretary of the "Tell the Truth!" campaign Julia Rymasheuskaya.

Ales Mikhalevich takes signatures from Belarusians who study at Polish universities. Several people also collect signatures in Moscow, says the presidential contender.

Ales Mikhalevich: “Speaking about foreign countries, we only collect signatures in Warsaw. There are also several people in Moscow who collect signatures from the Belarusians they know. Not much - just several dozens of people - signed”.

Quite a lot of supporters live in New York, says Mikhalevich. However, it is difficult to pass those signatures technically.

Signatures for the BPF contender Ryhor Kastusyou are also collected in Moscow. However, it's just one person, says the BPF Chairman Aliaksej Janukevich.

Aliaksej Janukevich: “We have one person working in Moscow. We do not conduct any public events there. If someone wants to sign, he or she calls that person and signs”.

According to last week's data, about 30 people have signed for Ryhor Kastusyou in Moscow.

As for the leader of the country, no one collects signatures for him abroad. They say, that's enough people here.

“There's enough of the electoral field in the country to come through this stage of the electoral campaign. Everything's clear and everyone's happy”, — said the representative of Aliaksandr Lukashenka's electoral headquarters Viktar Darankevich.

Nomination groups of the most "European" contender Andrej Sannikau and the Polish Jaraslau Ramanchuk also do not work abroad. However, as it was informed by Anatol Liabedzka, people come to Belarus and sign here.

Anatol Liabedzka: “I know several people who live in Belgium but are citizens of Belarus - they signed. As well as several people from Russia - they live in Russia, but they came here and signed for Jaraslau Ramanchuk”.
