Presidential election date to be set before Nov 8
The presidential elections in Belarus will take place not later than February 6, 2011, but the exact date will be decided by lawmakers by November 2010, Central Elections Commission secretary Mikalai Lazavik told the European Radio for Belarus. Mikalai Lazavik: “The elections of the president are set by the House of Representatives not later than five months before and are held not later than two months before the presidential term expires. The countdown is from the moment of inauguration (April 8, 2006)”.
