Putin to arrive in Minsk two hours after Poroshenko
On August 26 Minsk will host a summit with representatives of the Customs Union, Ukraine and the EU.
It is expected that the event will be held at the Palace of Independence. Its agenda is not yet known. The Belarusian MFA posted on its website the approximate arrival times of delegations at the Minsk National Airport.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko will arrive around 11:15, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht will arrive 15 minutes later. President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev will arrive at noon, EU Energy Commissioner Guenther Oettinger will arrive at 13:15.
Russian President Vladimir Putin will be the last one to arrive in Minsk at about 13.20.
The other day Petro Poroshenko said that he was going to Minsk to negotiate peace, because "the whole world is tired of war." According to the Ukrainian president, at the meeting in Minsk he will call upon Russia to "withdraw the militant fighters from Ukraine."
