Vladimir Putin has unveiled the date when Russia's tactical nuclear weapons will be brought to Belarus. This will happen on July 7-8, immediately after the appropriate facilities for it are prepared. Putin made this statement during his meeting with Aliaksandr Lukashenka in Sochi on June 9. The latter said on May 25 that the transfer of nuclear ammunition to Belarus had begun. So who's not telling the truth?
The President of the Russian Federation said on March 25 that Russian tactical nuclear weapons were to be deployed in Belarus. According to him, the construction of the special storage facility should be completed by July 1, 2023.
On May 25 in Minsk, Russian Defense Minister Viktar Khrenin and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu signed documents on the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in our country. It is emphasized that they will be operated exclusively by Russia.
On Friday, Vladimir Putin said that "everything is going according to plan, everything is stable" and after July 8, "activities" for the deployment of "appropriate types of weapons" on the territory of Belarus will begin.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called agreements between Moscow and Minsk on nuclear weapons for Belarus extremely irresponsible and dangerous rhetoric.
