Realtors may be prohibited to work on prepayment
This proposal came from the Ministry of Justice.
Ministry of Justice proposes to prohibit realtors to work on a prepaid basis. This initiative was announced by the Minister of Justice, Aleg Slizheuski during a press conference on February 17.
According to the minister, quoted by BELTA, real estate organizations are increasingly providing services in dishonest manner. Therefore, officials have monitored their activities and developed proposals to improve the legislation. In particular, it is proposed to prohibit prepayment for information on vacant rental premises. "We offer the opportunity to consolidate postpayment: first the service is provided, then a lease is signed, and only then should the payment follow," said Slizheuski.
Last year, after inspection of real estate companies, there were 11 administrative penalties. 10 organizations received instructions to get rid of the detected violations. Two real estate company (Interational Estate and Argusservis) had their licenses canceled.
Currently, in Belarus there are 141 real estate organizations employing about 4,000 of staff. 900 persons possess realtor certificates.
