Authors of missing child ad to be fined for Br5 million...
Such a fine can be imposed according to the Administrative Code.
The advertisement of a discounts website in the form of a missing girl report has caused a scandal. The owner of the website of " The Ministry of Discounts" and the author of the ad may be fined.
Darya Katkouskaya, lawyer of the company "Stsepanouski, Papakul and partners" thinks that such an ad violates the third paragraph of article 26 of the law "On Advertising" because it is unethical and violates the conventional moral standards.
"The majority of people do not understand that it is an advertisement of discounts, they think that it is a notice about a missing girl. It also violates the first paragraph of the article because it contains false information. There is no such a girl and she has not disappeared. However, the style of the advertisement does not make people understand that this is not a real girl."
But the expert disagrees with the opinion expressed by the Ministry of Trade - that the ad violates the rights of the Russian search organization.
Advertiser Yulia Lyashkevich says that the idea of the advertisement is strange.
"It is awful because a lot of people are missing nowadays. We all know that false information can appear in social networks and people may repost it and then it turns out that it is not true. Some ads can be provocative but this one has a bad style which is unacceptable for adults. It looks like the cruelty of children - they are too young and may not understand that there are some limits that should not be crossed."
The Ministry of Trade has refused to explain its opinion to Euroradio. They advised us to look through Soviet Byelorussia instead.
Consultant of consumer rights and advertising control department Ina Haurylchyk told the edition that the Ministry thought that the advertisement was unethical. It was pasted at bus stops without permission. They are trying to find out whether the girl's parents allowed using their daughter's photo for it.
The owner of the web page has already been found. He will be summoned to the Ministry of Trade and a report will be drawn up. Euroradio has also found the authors of the ad but they "have buried their heads in the sand": they are not answering phone calls and messages on VKontakte.
