Belarusian medicine for foreigners: different prices
Can people who pay avoid queues in policlinics?
Polyclinic #8 offers massage to foreigners and to Belarusian citizens. But the prices are different. Actually, there is no difference. But a foreigner is asked to pay 57700 and a Belarusian - 18150 roubles.
The prices for other paid medical services differ too.
Medical services in Belarus are quite inexpensive. Some policlinics use the situation to develop medical tourism.
For example, Brest Central Policlinic offers "a full individual medical check-up" to foreigners for $272.
I phoned the hotline of the Ministry of Health and asked whether it was possible to avoid queuing in policlinics if you decided to pay for medical services.
I received a phone call from my polyclinic an hour later.
Polyclinic: "If you pay for your check-up, you will be able to visit the doctor at the indicated time. Everything is organized well in our polyclinic."
Euroradio: But many people become very angry when they see someone who is going to skip the queue in a polyclinic. What should I do in such a situation?
Polyclinic: "If the nurse does not come out to invite you, you should knock on the door and tell the doctor that your are waiting for a paid medical check-up."
So, you just need to reach the door of the consulting room.
