“Everything will depend on the April 14 election and the new President's policy," a Belarusian working in Caracas explained to me.
All the programmes used to be supported by the previous Venezuelan President – Hugo Chavez.
“The situation may change dramatically because one of the candidates is an opposition member and he may refuse to cooperate with certain countries. The other candidate can behave in a different way too," the guy said.
The pre-election campaign has already begun: leaflets have appeared, he added.
The main candidates are Chavez' successor Nicolás Maduro and opposition candidate Henrique Capriles.
Minsk State Linguistic University is still going to assign graduates to Venezuela this year. There are applications, the Spanish Department said:
“We have not felt any changes, there are applications. We may send 3, 5 or 11 people. They ask for more interpreters when new contracts are signed. They have already contacted us this year and we will keep cooperating with them," the dean's office employees explained.
But they do not know how many graduates will be sent to Venezuela this year.
Minsk State Linguistic University graduate Dasha is going to work in Venezuela.
“We are going through a medical check-up now. The assignment is approaching. We asked them about possible changes but they said that nothing had changed. I will either go to Caracas or to Barinas, it will be clear in summer," Dasha said.
It will be clear much earlier. The presidential election will be held in Venezuela on April 14.
The company "Belzamezhbud" sending builders to Venezuela has no problems with vacancies. Workers are needed there, the company told Euroradio:
“We are working and we will keep working. There are many people willing to go to Venezuela and we will run out of vacancies soon."
The Venezuelan leader, Hugo Chavez, died on March 5. The Belarusian President called him his friend. A new Venezuelan President will be elected on April 14.
