Belarusians detained with millions of dollars in Ukraine
Two men in white robes tried to cross the border illegally.
The incident occurred in Volyn Province on December 19, the Ukrainian State Border Service reports. Two men heading for the Belarusian village of Marachy were noticed by a patrol. The men tried to escape but were stopped 100 meters away from Belarus.
They had a pack with a huge sum of money on them - 2 million 400 thousand dollars! The detained are Belarusian citizens. Their names have not been reported.
The Public Prosecutor's Office, Ukrainian Security Service, customs officers and the tax inspectorate are investigating the case.
