European officials discuss whom and how to help in Belarus
An informal meeting of the international financial donors of Belarus took place on July 12 in Brussels.
Representatives of the EU member states'
governmental authorities, international organizations and the civil society
discussed the mechanisms of aid to Belarus. The meeting was organized by the
European External Action Service and the European Commission, informs the
press-center of the latter.
"International
support may facilitate positive changes in these difficult for the Belarusian
people times. This is why the EU started coordinating of efforts of the
international donors which work with Belarus. Today's meeting gave us an
opportunity to share ideas and evaluations to improve our aid" - European
Commissioner Štefan Füle has
said, commenting the results of the meeting.
