Head of Drahichyn district buys a car for $47 K
Another Belarusian official gets an expensive service car.
Drahichyn district
executive committee decided to upgrade their auto park. The district
administration felt the need for a respectable-looking car
for "service journeys", for $ 47 thousand. The officials want to buy
a third generation Hyundai Santa Fe Comfort 4WD or its analogue. The initial
price is Br 400 million ($47 K). The source of finance - the district budget.
It is worth mentioning that Chairman of the district executive committee Yury
Dzyadzyuk has worked at his position for a little more than a month. His
predecessor Vasil Khvatsik was transferred to Baranavichy district, states Nasha Niva.
Thus, the head of Drahichyn district may soon become the owner of one of the most
expensive service cars among the officials of his level. Two years ago, a Mitsubishi
Outlander ($ 29-35 thousand) was bought for the Chairman of Navahradak district
executive committee. Auto parks of several more district executive committees
also have quite expensive cars at their disposal.
Chairman of Yelsk district executive committee Leanid Pisanik drives a Nissan
by now. They say in the committee that the car is literally falling apart so they
need a new one urgently, preferably a Touareg V6 TDI Tiptronic. The officials
do not feel embarrassed because of the Br 600 million (about $ 70 thousand)
price.
