HR defender and lawyer of the year awarded in Minsk

They awarded the best among their colleagues, the best journalist who covered human rights issues, and the best lawyer.

Andrzej Poczobut from Hrodna (in the photo), who is under criminal persecution now, became the journalist of the year. Alina Shostak and Alvina Dryho, who defended Young Front activists in courts, were called lawyers of the year.

Lyubou Kavalyova, mother of death convict in Minsk metro blast case Uladzislau Kavalyou, was called a human rights defender of the year, informs Radio Liberty.
