It will be possible to order and pay for taxi via social networks in Minsk
A price for your trip will be calculated beforehand, and you will be also provided free Internet access in a car.
Internet-taxi will go round Minsk since March 1. The new service has been provided by the Internet-portal TUT.BY together with Mobile Telesystems.
"15 taxies are going round Minsk with tut.by and MTS logos, – the director of TUT.BY Jury Ziser has told to Euroradio. – There will be 30 of them since March 1, and 150 - by the end of the year".
In order to use Internet taxi, it will be necessary to register in the tut.by social network. The system will remember all trips and there will be no need to enter new parameters each time, the creators of the service promise. A passenger will also be provided with free Internet access during a trip. He will be able to view web-sites using his mobile or a laptop.
"First, the taxies are equipped with wi-fi Internet. Secondly, you can order it via Internet, but this is not a new thing. The main point is that all this is connected with your profile in the social network tut.by, and that means, the system remembers all the orders of this concrete user and keeps a record on this".
It will be also possible to find out the price for the trip, at the stage of ordering the taxi. You just state where to go and from where, and the system will calculate the price. It will be possible to pay on the spot by a bank card via the system "pay tut.by".
"Moreover, you will be able to pay at once via Internet and then pay nothing to the driver directly, or pay for the trip in a taxi, via Internet, from your mobile or laptop".
The most curious thing is that you order taxi not through an operator, but your order goes directly to the driver who is nearby. The distance is calculated with the help of mobile operator's network.
"A client's whereabouts is found out with the help of the mobile operator and the order goes to the closest taxi-driver".
When a taxi-driver received an order, a text message is sent to a cell-phone.
