Kastus Shytal fined for 105 thousand roubles in Miory
The independent journalist was considered guilty of petty hooliganism— he allegedly swore badly when he talked to the police.
Judge of the Miory district court Valery Drabysheuski considered him guilty. He started considering Kastus Shytal's case back on October 10, when the journalist spent about two days in the pre-trial detention center in Miory. Witnesses - policemen of the Sharkaushchyna state auto inspection - were interrogated today. The judge decided that there was no doubt about the journalist's guilt.
Kastus Shytal claimed that he always spoke Belarusian and never used Russian bad swearing words. One of the witnesses-policemen agreed that he indeed spoke Belarusian but swore in Russian nevertheless.
