MEP: I believe that political prisoners will be released in nearest days
Kristian Vigenin explained why the European Parliament postponed adoption of the resolution on the situation in Belarus.
The MEP has said in an interview to Radio Liberty that Brussels received information about some "positive moves". Like, political prisoners may be released soon as demanded by the European Parliament and the EU.
"Such move of the Belarusian authorities would be a good message to the EU. I don't think that it would be enough, but it is absolutely necessary for normalization of relations with the EU. Probably, both sides could find understanding with regard to renewal of normal diplomatic relations. If this happens, these moves will be reflected in our resolution", - Vigenin has said.
Let us remind you, adoption of the resolution is expected to take place at the European Parliament's plenary session in Brussels on March 28-29.
