Money for GDL Statute is raised

It has responded to the recent appeal of the National Bank of Belarus. Thus, the 1588 GDL Statute will return to our country.

According to “Nasha Niva”, private donors have collected 76 million roubles. A private entrepreneur from Mahilyou who did not want to reveal his name has donated 4500 dollars. Paval Berahovich, Belarusian living in Russia, has donated 100 thousand Russian roubles. “Alpara” has donated the remaining sum.

Let us remind you that the 1588 Statute of the Great Grand Duchy of Lithuania was auctioned by a Moscow curiosity shop owner. The copy was valued at 45 thousand dollars. Mahilyou History Museum launched a charity action trying to raise the money needed to buy it. Part of the money (10%) has already been paid according to the preliminary agreement with the seller. The rest of the sum needs to be paid within three months.
