In a broad meaning,information is the spreading of news among people in a written form or orally or through other technical means.
The process of receiving such news is also considered information. Information always played a significant part in the lives of people. However, starting from mid-XX century its role has greatly increased due to social progress and rapid development of science and technology. Apart from this, there is an avalanche-like growth of various information. This occurrence is also called "informational explosion".
