Pickets in support of Bytalyatski forbidden in Homel
Local human rights activists were going to organize it on August 22.
Homel City Executive Committee has not allowed local human rights activists Anatol Paplauny, Victar Adzinochanak and Leanid Sudalenka to organize a picket in support of Ales Byalyatski, informs the human rights centre “Vyasna”. The pickets were supposed to be organized in the most crowded places of the regional centre on August 22. According to the letter sent by officials’, the human rights activists have not concluded the agreement on cleaning the territory with the police, medical institutions and the housing and communal services. According to the decision of Homel City Executive Committee, such agreements are needed for all mass events.
The applicants for the picket are going to appeal the City Executive Committee’s decision in court.
Let us also remind you that pickets in support of Ales Byalyatski have already been forbidden in Hrodna, Baranavichy and some other cities.
