Some Minsk districts left with no electric power due to failure at TPP-3
Power supply failed in Central, Lenin, Zavodzki and partly in some other districts of Minsk.
A failure occurred at the Thermal Power Plant-3 at about 11 a.m. today. Three Minsk districts were left without electric power as a result: Central, Lenin and Zavodzki, and partly some other districts of the city. There is information about power supply failures, absense of water, broken elevators and traffic lights in the mentioned districts, and also in the Uruchcha micro-district. There was no electricity at "Victory Square" subway station at 11 a.m., illumination at "Yakub Kolas Square" subway station was also out of order.
"The situation is being clarified at the moment", - an assistant of the head of Minsk city administration of emergency situations Vital Dembouski has said.- It is connected with the fact that the power feeder, which provides electric power to these districts, turned off. We are now clarifying why".
Vital Dembouski has added that the power supply failed in the ambulance station as well, however, "there is a free-running generator there, thus they have power supply". Electric traffic in the city center stopped in the city center.
