Valentine’s Day street action dispersed in Minsk
22 people were detained and some of them were beaten, informs the press service of “Malady Front”.
The transparency “I Love Belarus” was taken away 30 seconds later. Festive angels found themselves in the police office. Some of the detained were beaten.
It is the first time the most peaceful and pure action of “Malady Front” has been dispersed so severely. Unlike in the past few years, members of “Malady Front” could not even gather together.
Detentions started 5 minutes after the beginning of the action, right after the leader of “Young Democrats” Mihail Pashkevich had received the organization’s award “For civil activities” for his project of alternative military service near the City Hall.
The press service of “Malady Front" informs that all deputy heads of the organization, festive angels who were holding flowers and other participants of the action were detained. A woman who did not even know about the action was also detained accidentally.
The detained started being let off at about 8 p.m. All members of “Malady Front” were released by 9 p.m.
