Victar Shenderovich: "It is only funny when it's true"
A meeting of Belarusians with Victar Shenderovich took place late at night on September 15 in Tallinn.
The meeting was organized specially in the framework of the IV Congress of Belarusian Diaspora, but the musicians-participants of the campaign "Discover Europe-Discover Belarus" were also there.
The audience listened attentively and asked many questions, but Victar Shenderovich's speech was harmonious and actual: it was based on the examples of Russia and other countries, on amusing incidents from life and modern jokes, and made the audience laugh sincerely many times.
Victar Shenderovich: "Satire in the conditions of dictatorship - it's when the energy which couldn't find an output in free press, in business, in opportunities to choose freely, splashes into humour. And then it just bangs! The worse the situation in a country is, the more piercing people's jokes become."
