World's best hairdresser: Belarusians can be recognized by hairdo! (video)
European hairdressers take over the brave style of Belarusian masters. At the same time, Belarusians prefer conservative hairdos rather than experiments.
Belarusian Darya Dubrovina won the golden medal at the European Championship on Hairdressing in Vienna, having made the best hairdo in the most prestigious nomination "Full fashion house". A year ago she was the best in the world. Italians and Frenchmen copy Dubrovina's style and fear her at the championships!
Euroradio has asked the hairdresser about the Belarusian style and our people's conservativeness in haircuts.
Euroradio: Are there any peculiarities in the Belarusian hairdressing style?
Darya Dubrovina: If we speak about the works of the Belarusian masters, including my work at the European Championship, then I would say the peculiar features are freshness and bravery. I decided not to repeat the image which I had created at the previous championship. It took much time, but I wanted to create a new vision of a hairdo. I worked on it for about a half a year. My efforts resulted in appearance of the work which won the first place and attracted attention of all judges.
Euroradio: How practical is your winning hairdo? Will it be possible to see it in Minsk streets?
Darya Dubrovina: You know, I probably won because with this hairdo, with these colours you can go anywhere: Minsk, Milan, Paris. And the outfit was fashionable. On the whole, the "full fashion" image should look like it has come from the magazine cover - you should be able to just take it and wear it in the street. Or go to some fashionable event.
Euroradio: When
you come to Berlin or Italy, what catches your attention in the first place?
What is the difference between the haircuts of the local guys and the ones of
Belarusians?
Darya Dubrovina: I performed with a male model this time, and the hairdo was done on the short hair. Short haircut looks pretty much the same everywhere for the last 2-3 years. Only the colour may differ. But not the haircut itself. Belarus comes up with its own fashion for the second year in a row. For example, my work at this year's European championship differs from the one I did at the previous World Championship, while Italians, Frenchmen performed my style of a haircut from the World Championship, with little changes. It was the same style, they only changed the colour.
Euroradio: can you guess where a person comes from by his or her haircut?
Darya Dubrovina: I see our people at once. Russians, Belarusians. Naturally, a stylish guy will be stylish in Europe, in Moscow and in Minsk. We have many of such guys. However, many of our people are afraid of looking different, they fear to stand out, to be brighter. Maybe I won because I didn't fear.
