Russia refutes rumours about Belarusian salt import ban
Information about the presence of the product was requested from some shops but the shops were not asked to refuse from selling it.
The Russian Agricultural Inspectorate has not restricted the realisation of Belarusian and Ukrainian salt, TASS refers to inspectorate press secretary Anna Sergeyeva.
Information about the recommendation to refuse from selling Belarusian and Ukrainian salt in several Russian regions appeared earlier. The salt produced by Ukrainian Artyomsol and Slavyanskaya Sol and Belarusian Mazyrsol and Belkali did not correspond to the Russian nutrition norms, specialists claimed. At the same time, 56% of the Russians salt market belongs to Belarus and Ukraine.
Some regional departments of the inspectorate requested information about imported salt from shops but they did not recommend ‘refusing from it’, the inspectorate press secretary noted.
