Russia urgently needs 40 thousand tons of Belarusian potatoes

Belarus has received an urgent order for shipment of 40 thousand tons on potatoes to Russian regions, informs BELTA. At the moment they detect agricultural enterprises with high level of potato production so they could load the potatoes in big lots for Russia. Initially it was planned to sell abroad no less than 50 thousand tons of potatoes in the season 2010-2011. There are already contracts for such scopes of export. However, Central Russia needs potatoes right now due to crop failure. Thus,  procurements will increase several times.
