Russian woman involved in explosives joke incident released on bail
Maria Rymar from Samara in Russia, detained at the Minsk international airport, has been released on bail, reports volga.news quoting the woman's husband Andrei Rymar.
"This is not the end yet but a huge step forward. Big thank-you to al those whoe signed and shared the appeal and provided legal counseling," the man wrote on social media on Tuesday, July 19.
On July 17, Andrei wrote that a court in Belarus refused to release his wife on bail despite a request from the investigators.
Euroradio reported earlier that Maria Rymar was detained at the Minsk international airport on July 7. The mother of two was reportedly irritated by seper-thorough security checks when she uttered a bad joke that explosives were allgedly in her bag. The Russian was detained on suspiciton of false security alarm and placed into pretrial detention. She faces up to five years in prison.
Andrei Rymar disseminated an online appeal in support of his wife. Over 7000 people signed the appeal.
