Salihorsk court reprimands youth activist

A court in Salihorsk today ruled to reprimand Ivan Shyla, a youth activist for taking part in an unregistered organization. “Warning is an education measure for minors. He has been convicted of criminal charges and found guilty. But the court decided not to arrest him," human rights defender Valiantsin Stefanovich told ERB.

Ivan Shyla has given a written undertaking not to leave the country, Stefanovich said.

Pavel Seviarynets was also in the courthouse when the judge was reading the verdict. His car was stopped by police at the outskirts of Salihorsk. However, Seviarynets managed to run away and make it to the courthouse building.
