Salihorsk TV channel refuses to congratulate Lukashenka with “Last Autumn” song
A Salihorsker Paval Batuyeu wanted to congratulate the President of Belarus on November 7 with the “Last Autumn” song by DDT. The local Salihorsk channel STK refused to satisfy the request.
Batuyeu explained to ERB that the STK accepted congratulation requests with the possibility of broadcasting songs. However, they did not accept the Salihorsker’s request to congratulate the Belarusian leader and his son Kolya on the Day of the Great October Socialist Revolution.
Batuyeu tried to make his request on the phone at first. He was invited to come to the editorial office and the Salihorsker did it. However, even his written request was not accepted because he did not have author's rights for DDT’s “Last Autumn”.
Batuyeu decided to replace the song and ordered “My Immortal” by Еvanescence. But the request was not satisfied either.
Batuyeu: “I was refused. They explained that it was up to the editorial staff to take decisions about the format. They thought they did not need it. The editor-in-chief was not there. Only his deputy was present. She said: this is our editorial office and our channel – we can do what we like”.
Paval wrote a request in the STV’s complaint book asking for a written explanation why his request had not been accepted.
