Special state committee to be responsible for safety of Belarusian nuclear power plant

A committee to be responsible for the safety of the future Belarusian nuclear power plant is being created in Belarus. The deputy Minister of Emergency Control Valyantsin Karpitski has informed about it. According to him, the creation of a special committee is a mandatory requirement of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Karpitski noted that the Belarusian Ministry of Emergency control was looking for specialists having practical and theoretical experience in the work on the safety of an atomic nuclear power plant. There are such people in Lithuania and, according to Karpitski, some of them would like to come to Belarus in connection with the closing of Ignalisnk nuclear power plant.
