Stalinism victims remembered in Kurapaty

The traditional monthly commemoration of the victims of the Stalin regime took place on February 28 in Kurapaty, a suburb of Minsk. Some 20 action participants laid flowers to the memorial crosses, lit candles and stood a minute of silence over the innocent people killed by the Stalin secret police. Holding national white-red-white flags, the participants sang national Belarusian songs.

Vyachaslau Siuchyk, a member of the Belarusian Voluntary Society for Protection of History and Culture Heritage, reminded that in the night of October 30, 1937, the Stalin's secret police executed almost all the representatives of Belarus' national intellectual elite.
