Syarhei Kavalenka declares hunger strike
Syarhei Kavalenka, an opposition activist in Vitsebsk, has announced a hunger strike, reports Radio Liberty.
The activist has been in detention since July 8 allegedly for having violated detention procedures. Kavalenka was detainedd for hanging a white-red-white flag on the Christmass tree in the city center. He has been on a hunger strike for five days.
His relatives fear he could face fresh charges and imprisonment.
