Thomas Melia to have working meeting at Belarus MFA

Some details of the upcoming visit of Thomas Melia, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor at the United States Department of State, to Minsk have been revealed.  Melia will have a working meeting with the heads of Department of America and Department of Humanitarian Cooperation at the Belarusian foreign ministry on January 22, Belarusian MFA spokesman Andrei Savinnykh told Belapan news agency. "All issues of mutual interest will be discussed", said Savinnykh. A meeting with Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Martynov or his deputies is not planned.

On January 23, Melia is scheduled to meet with representatives of civil society, said Zhanna Litvina, the chairwoman of Belarusian Association of Journalists.
