Tsihan and Dzevyatouski did not get paid for Olympic Games

The other Olympic champions and medal-winners of Beijing Olympics have already received prizes, stars on epaulets and even free sausages. Furthermore, Olympic champions are about to get free flats. Winners of gold medals were promised 100 thousand dollars each, silver medal winners were to get 50 thousands and bronze medal winners – 30 thousands.

“The money has been paid but I have not heard anything about the flats, - says Andrei Aramnau, a weightlifting Olympic champion. – But they did promise it. I am on vacations now; we have visited Egypt with the team. To tell you the truth, I will not refuse from a flat in Minsk if they offer one to me”.

A hammer-throwing Olympic champion Aksana Myankova is going to move to her new flat by the end of the winter. The state has fulfilled all its promises.

“It was in October when Aksana was made a lieutenant, - summarizes Aksana’s coach Valery Varantsou. – The money the president promised was paid immediately. The decision about the flat will be taken at a meeting of the Olympic Committee and they promise to present it to her in February”.

However, the champion will not rush to her flat in the capital. Training conditions in Mahileu are better than in Minsk.

“The hammer-throwing sector is next to the sports complex, - continues Valery Varantsou. – For example, you can throw the hammer a few times in winter and return to the gymnasium to get warm and do some other exercises”.

Prizes, flats and stars on epaulets are not the only presents meant for Olympic champions. “Myasahrad” trademark gives sausages costing more than 100 thousand Br to Beijing triumphers every month. The action is eternal.

“They have kept the word, well done!”, - Andrei Aramnau compliments “Myasahrad” for it. – We receive meet from the enterprise every month. We chose the tastiest products and eat them. I have little time so my mother chooses sausages”.

Only Ivan Tsihan and Vadzim Dzevyatouski have not received state prizes and tasty food – they got involved in a dope scandal. The disciplinary commission of the International Olympic Committee was supposed to find out whether our sportsmen have used testosterone.

“The decision about Tsihan and Dzevyatouski has not been taken yet, - informs the press secretary of the National Olympic Committee Pyotr Rabuhin. – It will reach the chief of our Olympic mission first”.

Thus, all Tsihan and Dzevyatouski have got so far is state awards. Ivan received the medal “For labour valor”  and Vadzim became “An honored master of sports of the Republic of Belarus”.

Olympic medals still belong to Tsihan and Dzevyatouski until the investigation  of the IOC is over.

If the Belarusians are not proved guilty, Vadzim will get 50 thousand dollars of the state prize and Ivan – 30 thousands.
