Ukraine's Yanukovich invites Lukashenka for presidential inauguration
Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenka congratulated Victor Yanukovich with his win in Ukraine's presidential elections and expressed confidence that good neighborhood relations between the two countries would develop dynamically on the principles of trust and mutual respect, Belapan news agency reports, quoting the press service of Yanukovich-led Party Regions. Yanukovich thanked for congratulations and invited Lukashenka to attend the inauguration ceremony of Ukraine's new president.
Before the official final results are announced by February 17, Yanukovich won the run-off on February 7 with 48.9 percent of votes against PM Yulia Tymoeshenko with 45.47 percent. 2.36 percent voted against the both candidates.
