Ukrainian General Public Prosecutor's Office wants to take a blood sample from Viktor Juschenko
The General Public Prosecutor of Ukraine Viktar Pshonka has stated that his office wants to conduct a repeated expert examination of Ex-President Viktor Juschenko's blood samples. According to him, they intend to do so to investigate the case of poisoning of the former Ukrainian leader. He said that the previous examination conducted abroad arose doubts, informational agencies report. Juschenko was summoned to the Public Prosecutor's Office three times in connection with this case, but he failed to appear. There was no progress in the investigation for 5 years. The incident occurred in 2004. Viktor Juschenko, who was a presidential contender then, suddenly fell ill and got into hospital. He left the hospital with a maimed face. His allies claimed someone had tried to poison him with dioxine. However, this version was not confirmed documentally to the public.
