Uladzіmіr Syamashka evades European Commissioner’s question

Speaking to the European Commissioner for Energy Günther Oettinger, Uladzimir Syamashka has neither confirmed nor refuted Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s statement about the suspension of Russian gas transit to Europe. A representative of the European Commission has informed about it at a briefing. She has noted that the European commission keeps contacting EU member states that may be affected by the suspension of gas supplies as a result of the conflict – Lithuania, Poland and Germany.

“Poland and Lithuania informed us that there were no problems with gas supplies and the amount had not been decreased at 8 o’clock in the morning. It means that Germany has no problems either”, - said the EC representative.

By the way, the European Commissioner for Energy Günther Oettinger had to take part in the briefing but did not manage to attend it.

The European Commission has confirmed once again that only 6.25% of the whole amount of fuel needed for the EU was transported across Belarus.
