UN urges to refuse from elections in self-declared DPR and LPR
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has announced it.
The elections in so-called Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics are appointed on November 2. The UN Secretary-General has expressed regret in connection with the elections in so-called Novorossiya and urged the sides to fulfill the agreements reached earlier.
"The elections violate Minsk memorandum and protocol that should be fulfilled as soon as possible,” UN representatives Stéphane Dujarric said.
Heads of ‘republics’ and ‘MPs’ are going to be elected on the territories occupied by DPR and LPR militants on November 2. The so-called elections violate Minsk protocol and threaten the peaceful settlement of the situation in Donets Basin, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said.
