Victar Tsyareshchanka: Dollar to cost Br13 thousand by end of May 2014
The next devaluation of the national currency will reach 25-30%, the economist thinks.
The devaluation may happen this year, ex-presidential candidate Victar Tsyareshchanka thinks. Spring 2014 is the final term for it.
Victar Tsyareshchanka: “I think we can expect it (devaluation. – Euroradio) this year or next spring. There are no more reserves. 25-30% is just another stage. I think there may be two or three stages and the dollar exchange rate will reach Br13 thousand by the end of May.”
The Belarusian authorities had to launch “the devaluation process” this spring, the economist said. If they do not do it by spring 2014, the Belarusian economy will not endure such a delay.
The country has no other way to fill the budget besides “limiting the support of social projects”, Tsyareshchanka believes.
