Victoria Azaranka defeats world’s first racket and wins tournament in Miami
A 19-year-old Belarusian tennis player Victoria Azaranka has one a prestigious tournament in Miami. The prize fund was 4.5 million dollars.
She defeated the world’s first racket, American Serena Williams, in the final match on April 4 — 6:3, 6:1.
Williams stressed that her bandaged thigh could not be an excuse for the defeat in the live broadcast of the award ceremony on “Eurosport”.
The Belarusian and American have already met twice before – at the Australian Open. Williams won both times.
