"What country will want to lock in their needs to Russian game playing politics?

Foreigners’ opinions about the limitation of gas supplies to Belarus differ. ERB offers you some comments from the CNN’s website. wizk:
Bravo Mevedev. Belarus brought this on themselves. A sensible nation would have approached the negotiations table with a more amicable solution. Blatant non-compliance is not an acceptable answer.

stevenabb:
Russia, Great way to destroy your long term business!!! What country is going to depend upon Russia? Case and point: Natural Gas pipelines are being laid down in record time between Europe and the middle east. Eastern Block countries are preparing for next winter through other routes away from Russia. Europe is also building power plants are being setup to dual burn natural gas or oil. Soon enough Russia's gas will have a sigma attached and a very lost price due to the uncertainty over the supply. What country will want to lock in their gas needs to Russian game playing politics.

adognow:
Look up Nordstream, a joint project between Germany and Russia. This will make sure that some unreliable, arse-kissing former Soviet republics will stop stealing natural gas. It was a fact that they were stealing gas, even the EU says so.

dawnrunn3r:
I like how this issue is seen as political weapon only. 185$ rate is still 50% lower then the rate rest of Europe buys this gas. Belarus was given cheaper gas in exchange for some commitments both economical and political which they refused later. It's natural to charge the penalty for your partner who doesn't fulfill its commitments, isn't it?

sammarrah:
I guess their suicide rate will go even higher now...

Only the very beginning of energy wars in Eastern Europe. Wait till they start arguing about water.
