Will bus-stop sheds appear in Minsk only by end of 2010?
Minskers are still freezing at unequipped bus stops. All sheds have been demolished in accordance in Minsk city executive committee’s decision about the liquidation of private kiosks. Many bus-stops still lack sheds needed to protect the inhabitants of the city from rain, snow and wind. At the same time, the deputy head of the administration of Kastrychnitski District of Minsk city executive committee Stanislau Paytkevich says that all the needed winter equipment has already been installed.
Stanіslau Pyatkevіch: All the population needs has already been installed. We have installed everything required by the district administration – benches and litter-bins.
According to the plan, bus-stops had to be equipped by the end of 2008. Pyatkevich blames the Christmas season for the delay.
Stanіslau Pyatkevіch: There was a problem concerning shipment of materials from abroad before the New Year’s Day so the work was not finished in time.
ERB: So, when will sheds be installed at bus-stops?
Stanіslau Pyatkevіch: The best variant is January. Materials have already been acquired and sheds are being produced now. “Horremautador” is installing them.
However, the head of the technical supervision department of “Minsk Horremautador” Maria Yeusikava is sure that the work has already been done.
Maria Yeusikava: “Here is the decision of Minsk city executive committee concerning the sheds we have demolished. According to the plan, we had to install 538 sheds and we have fulfilled it”.
According to her, bus-stops in streets undergoing major repairs are not included in the category.
The time of installation of sheds at bus-stops depends on the terms of major repairs along the whole street. The head of the project department of “Horremautador” responsible for major repairs Valyantsina Antsyparovich told ERB about it. According to her, all projects assume that bus-stops will be equipped with sheds.
Valyantsina Antsyparovich: Objects included in major repairs plans will have bus-stops equipped with sheds. All projects assume it. The exploiting organization informs me that they need a certain number of sheds installed at bus-stops and we add them to the project.
Bus-stops included in major repairs plans will have to be equipped by 2010. We wish Minskers to wear warm clothes and not to catch cold by the time.
