Yarmoshyna: Lukashenka not to go on vacations during elections
However, all the other presidential candidates must do it, the CEC chairperson said.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka will not go on vacations during the presidential election campaign this year, CEC chairperson Lidziya Yarmoshyna told Euroradio. According to the law, the President can keep fulfilling his duties during several months of the presidential election campaign, she noted.
Yarmoshyna: “Candidates must go on vacations after registration. Nobody forces them to quit their jobs though. But it does not apply to the President during presidential elections and the PM during parliamentary elections.”
The presidential election will be held in Belarus on October 11. The House of Representatives will need to approve the date on June 30.
