Yarmoshyna: Some candidates withdraw for farfetched reasons
Some candidates are withdrawing for farfetched reasons, CEC chairperson Lidziya Yarmoshyna announced on September 5. There are 491 candidates at the moment but one person is planning to withdraw.
"There are candidates who see bad things everywhere. The today’s withdrawal application is of this kind,” BELTA quotes Yarmoshyna. The candidate explained his decision by the fact that very few representatives of his party (United Civil Party) had been allowed to join election committees. He knew about it but continued his election campaign to get free air time and ‘spin himself’, the CEC chairperson believes.
The parliamentary election is appointed for September 11. The early vote will begin on Tuesday.
