Youth activists detained in Sklou, denied appointment with jailed leader
The participants of a solidarity action in support of Zmicier Dashkevich, the jailed leader of the Malady Front youth pressure group, reached on Friday the town of Sklou where the young activist is serving his prison term. 13 activists dressed in T-shirts saying "Solidarity Motor Race" walked to the correction colony's building. They were followed by a police car.
The young people were detained and taken into a police station where their IDs were checked. Several colony officials arrived at the same police station and had a talk with the action participants. However, they denied appointment with Zmicier Dashkevich.
The youth activists were only able to pass a birthday greeting card to the political prisoner. From Sklou, the action participants headed to Mahiliou, according to Radio Svaboda.
