Siarhei Kuntsevich, another suspect in the riot case and a member of Mikola Statkevich's led Belarusian Social Democratic Party, was released from a pretrial jail on June 3, Statkevich's wife Maryna Adamovich wrote in her Facebook account.
Siarhei Kuntsevich was detained on March 24 and placed in the KGB detention center. On April 6, he was transferred to a Interior Ministry's pre-trial detention facility in Minsk's Valadarskaha sreet.
Kuntsevich has not elaborated on the details of his release yet. When asking questions from Radio Svaboda, he promised to be more specific later.
In several propaganda videos on Belarus State TV, Kuntsevich was described as 'Statkevich's driver.' In the video report about his detention ahead of the March 25 Freedom Day demonstration, agents were shown pulling Molotov cocktail bottles from his car.
15 people remain behind bars as suspects in the riot case. A total of 35 activists were detained in late March. They were later charged with preparing a riot and creating an illegal armed unit.
