Belarus asks Italy to extradite ex-director of Pinskdrev
General Prosecutor’s Office sends an extradition request for Laran Arynich detained in Italy on June 16, Interfax-West reports.
It is not the first attempt to bring Laran Arynich back to Belarus. The former director Pinskdrev furniture-making factory was detained in Poland in the summer of 2012. However, Poland did not reply to the extradition request.
Wanted in Belarus since August 2011, Laran Arynich is facing criminal prosecution for the fire at Pisnkdrev that killed 14 people. Over 20 people were injured in the fire.
