Belarus-EU cooperation prospects discussed in Minsk
The prospects of Belarus-EU cooperation were discussed in Minsk on Tuesday, May 17. Belarusian diplomats met with a Benelux Union delegation (Belgium, Luxemburg and the Netherlands). Belarusian Minister for Foreign Affairs Uladzimir Makei met with the Foreign Ministers of these states.
The current state of Belarus-EU relations, their development and regional security issues were discussed at the meeting, the Belarusian MFA press service reports.
Belarus-EU relations have improved recently. The relations should be based on mutual values – respect for democracy, human rights and supremacy of law, EU representative in Belarus Andrea Wiktorin said yesterday. Political prisoners’ civil rights should be restored, the European Union insists.
